I have been playing tabletop sports games since I was nine years old. As I write this (January 2012), I am 48, so I'm closing in on 40 years of rolling dice, flipping cards, and "seeing" the games I play in my mind, as if watching them on television.
I have also had a fascination with bad teams, and my hometown 1975 Tigers would certainly qualify---as do the 1964 Mets, whose replay (in hiatus now) can be found here.
I will be using the Replay Baseball Game, which is among the finest on the planet. I will play all 159 games of the 1975 Tigers season, using actual starting pitchers and lineups/batting orders.
Why do this?
Why NOT???
Tabletop gamers understand the answer to that question.
I am starting this blog after 10 games have already been played, so those 10 games will be afforded only brief capsules. But after that, each game's recap will be its own blog post, complete with "quotes" from players and manager Ralph "The Major" Houk.
My goal is to finish this project by the end of the 2012 baseball season.
